Today, Botswana Oil Limited (BOL) participated in the Prize Giving Ceremony at Lephepe Primary School, represented by Human Capital Business Partner Ms. Gofaone Chibana. The event, themed βπ΄πππ πππ πͺπππππ: π¨ π΅ππππππππ π»πππ πππ π©ππππ πππ πππ π©πππ π³πππππ,β celebrated and recognised studentβs academic performance.
In her speech, Ms. Chibana commended the hard work of the students and acknowledged the dedication of parents and teachers in supporting their success. She praised those who scored 80% or above in various subjects, emphasizing the importance of quality output.
Reflecting on the theme, she noted that many students encounter obstacles in their educational journeys, including limited resources, geographic challenges, and societal expectations that may suggest success is unattainable.
However, she emphasized that a shift in mindset can transform these challenges into stepping stones. She encouraged the students to persevere regardless of difficulties, reinforcing that they have the potential to achieve great things, regardless of their backgrounds. School Head Mr. Mothei Mothei highlighted their commitment to enhancing student performance, mentioning that they also reward students who improve their scores by at least 10% compared to previous yearβs results. Since 2020, the school has seen a notable increase in average performance, rising from 48.8% to 59.5%, with hopes of achieving an average score of 80% or higher.
Mr. Mothei also expressed gratitude to parents and the organizing committee, particularly thanking Botswana Oil Limited for their support and collaboration. He noted that the school currently holds two trophies: one from the Legojane Foundation for achieving over 80% in the Lebososhale Cluster (that is primary schools in Lephehe, Boatlaname, Sojwe, Shadidi, Leologane), and another for being the best school in the Lentsweletau Sub Region with a PSLE performance of 82.5%.
The joyous atmosphere reflected the pride and happiness of parents regarding the schoolβs accomplishments.
BOL remains committed to supporting Lephepe Primary School in promoting academic excellence and improving the teaching and learning environment.
